.... straight into the path as I had my morning run, I started to wonder do I have right of way? None of them even glanced in my direction and when they eventually realised I was there made no attempt to clear the path so that I could start running again? Would they be charged if they did kill me?

Pavement, (i couldn't even nip onto the road cos there is a large and very muddy grass verge in the way!)

Next car that does it, just kick the car, fall in the road clutching your knee, then "hobble" off - make them paranoid for a few days that you are going to go for compensation ..

Would do but it would mess up my run timings (doing splits on a 5K) and I'd get very dirty rolling in the grass!

Carry a house brick with you for "stamina building" purposes.
Continue running into them when they reverse out and brace your impact with the brick.
Then sue for damage to your exercise equipment

Now thats a good idea, I sometimes run with a weighted pack on long runs but not on shorter ones. Couldn't I get done for damaging their car?

As I suspected. Running is dangerous. Avoid it.

It's amazing the number of cars that scream off a junction but don't realise that pedestrians already crossing the road have right of way.

A couple of days ago I was crossing over a road leading to a car park and a woman came round the corner on two wheels and seemed suprised that I wasn't running out of the way. Luckily (for me!) she swerved around me but I was looking forward to a Big Cash Payout.

Also when I walk back from the shop to my office at lunchtime I find a LOT of people turning into our offices seem to expect you to have eyes in the back of your head and stop to let them in. I usually do, but being literally next to a motorway it's not always possible to hear a car coming. More than once I have heard heavy braking right next to me to me!
