I've seen posts on here recommending someone/a company for servicing/rebuilding of forks but I can't for the life of me find the post(s). Anyone know who I may be referring to?

I suspect I've blown a seal or two as my lockout no longer works and the negative air valve spurted a bit of oil when I detached the pump (although it's holding pressure fine).

The fork is a 2009 RS Reba SL.

Cheers.

I'd repeat what I said on this thread but, given that yours are this year's model, with even more emphasis.

Whether or not the warranty on the forks covers the seals is, in my opinion, completely irrelevant. They simply should not blow in new forks. Go back to the shop you got them from and ask them politely to fix them under the sale of goods act.

All well and good but I bought them (perhaps stupidly) on eBay from a seller in the states. I did have a big crash last weekend which probably didn't help. I guess I could try going directly to SRAM (UK distributor is just down the road actually) but not sure what response I'd get.

I just had a little play with the floodgate setting and it does appear to be working OK, I just had the setting too low. I shall see if it keeps its pressure over the next week and if it does then I won't worry about it.

If you still want a company who can rebuild/service them, may I recommend TF Tuned. A friend had his Lyrics in there and it was very good service (both to him as a customer and the forks).

yes

TF tuned Shox is the company you were thinking of.

Firstly though you want to get in touch with 'Fishers' who are the UK distributors or Rockshox products - they are your contact in the UK for everything Rock Shox.

Ring em up, be very nice and explain your situation RE the imported forks.

They might not be able to repair them for free - but certainly they are usually very helpful so its worth a try.

I've been in touch with them before regarding getting a part so I know they are good to deal with. Like I said I'll keep and eye on it but it looks to be a case of "lardy bloke not setting the floodgate high enough". Not sure about the oil coming out of the negative air valve. Is that just lubrication oil or is there an oil bath in the spring leg too?

They all do that, sir. It's oil that lubricates the internals of the air spring (seperate to the oil in the lowers). Turn the bike upside down before inflating/deflating the air chamber: it'll stop (as much) oil dripping/spraying out.

Shouldn't need a service after less than a yr!

My 2000 Marzocchi Bomber Z2's have NEVER been serviced and are still sweet as a nut

Completely irrelevant - as is the age of the forks.

The internals of a Motion control Rock Shox are far more complex than an old Open bath Marzocchi.

The Servicing intervals are much shorter - and are measured in hours of use, not age of fork.

As an aside - Even as a long time fan of the old Bomber forks - I can guarantee you that if those forks have actually been used as intended, they are NOT sweet as a nut after 9 years.

They are getting a little bit noisey, I'll take them apart and look inside!

I took the top caps off a few months back and the oil is still like new!
