Some great photo's on this ad.

Note, made for the 5.0 HO Mustang V8 so beefed up compared to UK versions.

Just need to find a source for bell housing and quick-shift.

I really would like to eliminate my crap LT77 seciond gear graunching. It's rediculous having to double de-clutch for a semi-smooth down shift.

That's a great price too if it's a fairly direct replacement.

Off topic Phil, do you have the contact details of the chap that did your dash veneering. Don't seem to be much about 2nd hand. Ta thumbup

Have you tried Castrol SMX-S? It'll cost you about 15 quid to refill the gearbox. On the other hand the syncro ring might be shot, in which case it's often easier to buy a replacement box off ebay.

Wyn,

This fella is based at his house in Watford.

He advertises in Sprint magazine which I do not subscribe to.

I'm sure someone here or on the general TVR forum will be able to come up with his contact info.

My new screen's in - looks great.

Car going in for body off resto hopefully during October.

The American T5 has a very high fifth, so high that it is virtually unuasable unless you have the correct diff ratio.

A High rear diff coupled to this labours the car.

I once had a US T5 in a cobra replica with a 2.88 diff. it wouldn't pull unless we were plus 90mph on the motorway.

The 1st gear ratio at 3.35 is also very high .. would be very useful if you are towing a caravan.

An alternative with better ratio's:

Are the input/output splines correct on that box?

Considering that's here in the UK that's not bad however one still needs all the other parts for the conversion.

I wonder how the spec of that WC T5 compares to this one which others rave about:

I think I'll try the Castrol before I bancrupt myself cry

This may be of interest, I wasnt aware of this,ATF is that right?, I have wrecked 3 of these boxes whilst shifting from 1-2nd when I had a 3500s P6, but i was told it was due to inability to preload on early boxes.Wouldn't argue as I dont know.
