Testing my Lambda

Hello all

I have taken OUT my Lambdas and want to test them with a Digital meter and this is where im right/wrong or do I have to just pop them back in to test
Lambda wires
White -
Red + heater
Black out

cerb 4.5 1998




Set meter at 2v ? put Red +ve off Digital meter to Black wire lambda ?? Black -ve off digital meter to ?? car earth or wire wire from lambda

Meter should read 0-1 v or (0-5v) Helppppp please

The only practical way to test them is to fit them in a car running in closed loop mode and confirm that the output is cycling regularly at around 1Hz or better. If it isn't, there may be a problem with the engine management system, and it could be a duff lambda sensor but it could be something else. If there's a suspected problem you can test by substitution - but that can get expensive if the fault is elsewhere.
