Anyone buy it?
the online play seems quite good and the gameplay has been tweaked for the better from halo 3
the addition of the 2nd disc with all the maps is a nice touch.
i was working the midnight launch and had a few people pop in to buy it - i got it for the controller - looks awesome
my nephew's got the game

Firefight is alright
Campaign is pretty s
t, not that far into it, but the main character stuff so far is utter s
t, the levels where your not him are pretty good, but walking around at night fighting a constant stream of 4-5 grunts and one brute is really f
king tedious, it all looks the same, it all plays the same, go through a few buildings fighting the 4 or 5 grunts and the brute, followed by a level with some other character, followed by a horde fight
Turned it off after an hour or so, just isnt Halo 3, lack of the Master Chief I think does it, and the story line is utter s
t so far
As for the second disc, its just Halo 3 multiplayer, something I already have, on Halo 3 funnily enough, rather pointless thing to have

I was gettgin into thinking that, but then it occurred to me that I didn't need to fight them...in character as it were, it's highly unlikely that you'd rock up with your silenced weapons and bring the pain, so I've been having more fun sneaking around, using my map to see enemies, work out alternative routes, occasionally engage or pick off unwary snipers.
Now an again there's no choice but to fight but again with patience (a trait I don't normally apply to computer games) you can make the fights a lot easier for you..having said all that I do also prefer the flashbacks!

Pretty unimpressed with that as well if i'm honest, doesn't even have the ODST weapons, or any relation whatsoever to odst. It's just halo 3 with the story cut out (which isn't a bad thing, but still).Fabric 2.2 said:

d thing updated my console to some odd looking menu system, which frankly looks s
t and is far to confusing for me, just angers meSeverly unimpressed, thank god that I only paid £30 for it
Its not that, its just boring as f
k, you seem to be doing things for the sake of doing things, not wanting to spoil the game for anyone but the first set of challenges where your on your own, its f
king tedious, everything looks the same, same enemies, same s
t, I would rather have the plot made up on a video and get straight into the action as opposed to spending a few hours doing f
k all fun, and when the interesting levels do come up, they are very short...
Piss poor

Same feeling tbh - story mode when you are not the rookie bloke is ok, other than that, dull repetitive point to point fighting.
Fancy giving the firefight mode a bash - but have no mates who play halo - any idea if you can do it online with randoms (a la GOW2)?
Failing that, anyone who wants a game of it, add me - GT is Parsnip49

Kind of get the impression I'm the only person liking this, it's maybe the worst halo game yet but it's still proper good fun. Put it into perspective, try the new wolfenstein to see what a really s
t first person shooter looks like!
I thought it was good too, though I bought it with low expectations so was pleasantly surprised!
t first person shooter looks like!Took me about 8 hours to complete, but that was because I only play on heroic setting and up, and found all of those data tidbits to get the achievement, so much more exploring as the rookie.
Firefight is pretty good with my mates and on your own but not as much.
As you say, Wolfenstein is pants. Played the demo and it was like looking at a xbox original standard of graphics :O
The cousin came round at the weekend and brought his copy of ODST with him.
We completed it on legendary after about 7 hours of Play.
We liked it... but I must admit, switching between the characters was annoying. Play through as one character to the end.. then play as the other character, would have kept it linear and more immersive.
The Firefight mode is brilliant, Better than GoW2:Horde by a Long way. The Skull Difficulty Multipliers really mix it up and make it a good laugh.
7/10
