My car has passed its IVA ...

My car has been with the factory for a little while, and they took it for it's IVA yesterday and it passed !!

Very exciting - I should be on the road in a couple of weeks.

I will post some pictures of the engine installation and the finished car soon.

Are you getting the Factory to register it for you?
Well worth it as they can smooth some of the paperwork issues because they have done it so often. Also the local office has seen plenty of Ultima registrations which avoids them having to ask lots of questions like 'What's that, never heard of those before'. If you do then make sure they put a whole year tax on it. For some reason they only put 6 months on mine, perhaps thinking it would be stored over winter.

It is the G50/03 gearbox.

Yes - it is that same engine - I bought it from American Speed earlier this year and it was shipped direct to the factory a couple of months ago.

I would LOVE to be able to take credit for the installation (!!) - as you say, it looks VERY nice...

The fact is that the factory guys have done it for me - I delivered the car to them with the empty engine bay, as you see in the picture, and they have done the engine/gearbox etc.

I am looking forward to collecting the car in a couple of weeks.

Yes - fair point - they are not ideal - but they were not expensive (they may LOOK like CF, but they are not) and I think they will look better than the red ones that came with the engine - I liked the yellow lettering on them !

Perhaps I will try to get some nice CF ones at some point.

Great job Kelvin. Lets see some complete photo's when it is on the road.
Personally I think an absense of covers looks more purposeful..
While the body is about form the engine is function.
The coil packs etc add to the " I'm a serious piece of gear" image..

OK - I now have some pics of the finished car - I am collecting it next Thursday - let's hope the weather stays dry.

Richard Marlow drove it about 30 miles today, and he said that the car is the dog's bks (actually, he didn't say that - I made that up - but he DID say that it drove very well)

I can't decide about the black "Ultima GTR" stickers down each side - I am thinking about that.

Anyway, here are the pictures:-

Looking good and the right colour.

Those Corvette covers will have to go. Does anyone have an 'Ultima' replacement in development or even a plain one would be better.
