Power steering fluid, should a car use any?

I checked mine reciently and there wasn't much in there. Do Tuscan use power steering fluid, or do I have a leak?

Its my understanding that the power steering and the clutch share the same fluid so it may be related to your clutch.
(or was that my Chimaera ?)

You have a leak.

It is the brake and clutch fluid that share a reservoir not the power steering.

It definetly should not use any and the level should be to the mark on the dipstick in the cap.

If the rack seals have gone it may not be obvious as the fluid will leak into the gaiters and not onto the floor. The fluid can also leak into the undertray. You will notice it when you reverse.

In addition it may only leak when you turn the steering wheel and won't use much on a long motorway trip, but more round town.

You need to get it checked out. To get the steering rack off and reconditioned and re-fitted should be around £500 at an independent TVR specialist and take over a week of elapsed time.

Luckly the car's still under warantee. Since I bought it from a TVR Specialist it should hopefully be covered. It's booked in for the 7th October, I'll let you know the results.
