Shoe Shops in London?

I'm down London tomorrow and will have a spare two and half hours.
The event I'm at is on Victoria Street and finishes at 1.30ish and by 3.45pm I need to be at Euston.
I could do with some "smart casual" shoes and nowhere local seems to have anything that catches my eye so I figure if I can't find it in London there's no hope for me.
The question is, for the most choice where should I be looking (given that Birmingham doesn't have much I think Oxford St will just be more of the same).

its a massive centre with a few shoe shops in, might be a bit easier than navigating around complex high streets?

I used to work near Victoria. It is easy there is lots of clothes stores, a Clarks and a House of Fraser there too. Do some research with this nifty tool:

Selfridges is likely to have the best selection, although not cheap. I would avoid "fashion" brands like Prada though, unless you want to spend £300 on a pair of patent leather plimsolls!
You could also try the Timberland shop on Regent St, probably more towards the casual end of the spectrum. Check on their site beforehand to see if its worthwhile.
In either case - get the tube to Oxford Circus, should only take 5 mins.
As mentioned, there is the HoF on Victoria St which is worth a look, and cheaper than Selfridges, but their range is not as good.
