I accidentally posted a couple of things here from the work computer the other day. We all share the same login. I had auto login enabled in my profile.

as i cant get rid of PH from the history (need to be adminiistrator) - can someone else click on it and post as me / edit my profile etc?

I cant get back on that particular PC to turn off auto login. If i turn it off here (i.e. at home) will it also be turned off there?

Hope that makes sense.

Cheers,
MrF

Yes, others could post as you, because you made Pistonheads create a long term cookie on that computer in that login.
If you hadn't enabled the 'remember me'-feature, the login-cookie would have been deleted at the end of the browser session.
The cookie will last a maximum of three months AFAIK, when no other restrictions had been set up.
Someone else has to visit PH to use and modify your account though.
Do the other users now PH?

the trouble is that im not meat to use t'internet at work.....

I could blag PH in the history (even though i have both the sticker and tax disk holder! ) but if they opened the profile and saw my car I'm stuffed.

If i change my password here (home PC) will they still be able to auto log in there?

I don't know - that depends on the information which is stored in the cookie.
A username-change might help, if it is very important for you.

If you can get back on that computer, just click log out in the member area.

If this is still an issue for you then email me as there is something I can do to disable the active account on the other PC.

One of the computer guys here was saying this week that they are not legally allowed to read your emails or look at web pages you have visited at work due to privacy rules. Didn't stop them opening post sent to me marked P&C tho'

If your post marked 'Private and confidential' has been opened, you could take your employer to court etc, and they would not be allowed to victimise you as a consequence of that. Speak to your Union rep etc
