E46 Rain Sensor

Is it possible to have a proper delay if you have a rain sensor. I prefer to have a regular sweep - the sensor seems a bit hit and miss. Adjusting the sensitivity seems to make little difference either.

On the wiper stalk there's a dial which controls the intermittent interval - at the bottom it's controlled by the sensor, and the other settings set a specific time.

The wheel controls sensitivity of the wipers.
