I'm thinking of getting some new cans or maybe getting the existing one's sleeved.

FYI I've got a 2002 4.0 in Titanium

What are peoples views on :

a) New Can's too expensive (I like the carbon look)
b) The improvements in noise and performance of just sleeving the existing exhaust
c) any reliablity issues with either of the two mods
d) Any recommended suppliers and cost of the mods

Thanks

I had my first Tuscan sleeved, then had the CCC fitted. So here's my HO.

If you can afford it go for Carbon Can Co pipes. Worth every penny.

Sleeving makes it a lot "tinnier" but does increase the volume. CCC are a lot basier(sp?) in note as well as an increase in volume.

Not that i'm aware of

Anybody can do it. You could even do it yourself.

Hope this helps. Go CCC if you can. You would regret it.

I agree with exactly what Tuan has said, as I also have sleeved and CC's.

I only now wish I had a standard pair for the track as reversing the sleeved ones after 2.5 years of rust is very unlikely...

I have sleeved and think the noise is spot on, certainly more masculine than the standard cans. Best of all you can have this for £100 fitted. Proper Bo I tell thee.

I have the CCC cans on the Tuscan S and sounds fantastic and would recommend them to anyone. The noise is sublime particularly on overrun!!!! Dont slow down to quickly near horses!

I have CCC cans AND the car has no cats. The noise is deafening (I think I might pop the cats back in as it's tooooooo loud for normal driving)

The CCC cans look like they'ye just straight through pipes (i.e.. sleeved) but they are slightly basier than sleeved standard cans.

You could also try Hexham Horseless Carriages - they do a conversion kit which also eliminates the silencers that the cans fit to. Jeez that must be loud!

However you could buy and fit sleeves your self and save £93

The main advantage of CCC cans is that you swap them for the originals. If you do any track days, you need to swap them back to keep within the noise limits. The pipe in sleeved exhausts tends to get very attached after a while....

Cheers,

Andy.

I have a cerb 4.2 with sports pipes, can i sleeve these, or would they already be sleeved because they are sports pipes?
Sounds like a good cheap mod.

The standard Tuscan cans have perforated sound absorbing material in the end cans thee CCC have none ie "straight through" plus they are a slightly bigger bore. I think the pipes on a Cerbera are straight through and the standard system has silencers in line although don't know about sports systems. Seems a lot of Cerbra owners de-cat them for the extra sound.

Thanks for the chat yesterday, went to my local man and he sorted me out with the pipe 50mm dia. The job is done and took 1hr to do. Have not tested it yet but will give feedback when I do. Rather than using fairy liquid I used Copper grease so I can remove them easy.
O it cost my £0.00 so that beat you £7.00

Take Care and thanks agina for this help.

Thanks for all of the info.

Sounds like the sleeving is a nice easy DIY mod to give it a bassier(?) sound without breaking the bank.

Has anybody got a contact number or web site where I can mail order the tubing and a f@cking big hammer

Ok looks like people have convinced me I need some CCC cans in prep for Le Man!! What is the CCC website address?? Do they have pics of the different colours of the cans as anyone that knows my coloured Tuscan will know that i need to get the right colour to fit with the car.

Cheers.

Alan.
