At the first Fighting Torque we were reaching high 150's and that was over 3/4 mile in 4th. I would have thought over a full mile you should be hitting 170 to 180.

I was going to use the old "left my handbrake on" excuse.... But everyone knows, that would make absolutely no difference on this particular car biggrin

Thanks for posting. It's a very long straight, the wind whips across it a fair bit.

Should be fun.

Woodbridge is an excellent place to stretch the Cerbs legs, the runway is in superb condition with just enough braking area.
On the bike I managed 204.8mph at the mile and 218.7mph at the mile and a quarter........can't wait to put the Cerb through it's paces.

I'm not too familiar with the car scene (but learning) biggrin the bike scene however required pre booking with full names and addresses, Iopd licences etc to satisfy Raf Woodbridge security (It's an active base)

smile

Watch out for the buddleia as it's grown quite tall thus creating a wind break, you'll notice this when passing the service/return roads yikes

Why not make a weekend of it? The Night Drag Racing at the Pod on the 17th Oct looks cool - only £10 for unlimited runs from 5pm to 9pm plus £10 in, so £20 total. Nice cool air too.

I can highly recommend that cheap Holiday Inn at Ipswich as well. Stopped in it a couple of times now. Good for the family, Pool, good bar, big screen with the sport on, good breakfast. Everything A discerning Brummy requires smile

Evening meals are crap though smile

yikes

Less than half the time, it would take my car to get there.

Paul....smile If you put yourself on your normally hourly rate & paid the various people their proper rates to do the work.....

If someone was to drop off their car with no engine & a chassis in need of renovation, what would it cost for the returned product in a similar spec to yours ?

Hypothetically obviously, as I gather you'd not be keen to do it.

But just inquisitive smile

Engine and box would be £12-14K ish i guess, then you need the higher ratio diff another £500 ish quid, Emerald another £1000, Drive shafts cos they will snap.. Other bits on mine are Nitrons, big brakes, i'm guessing another £20K on top of the car??

This 997 turbo takes about 22secs, so makes it good value!

I'm going along. I'll be taking along a can of my proprietary 'Whoopass' for dishing out to those lardy VXRs. Others cars entered include a C6 Z06 (I defy ANY AJP Cerb to beat this!), 993 Turbo and a Ferrari F430!

Come on chaps, where are the 420hp+ Cerbies?! 1 mile drag race = no excuses!!

Will this event be happening again in the new year?
0-160 in 15 secs is so impressive Brummy.
I reckon my Chim will be good for 0-150 in 15 and the mile in under 30 seconds despite gearing limiting the top speed to about 165.
Im gagging to come prove it as soon as the cars rebuilt.

I'm up for this in my 4.2 if I get it back in time! Not driven it that fast so far, should be an awesome day out!
