BMW team to run Ferrari engines in 2010

Mario Theissen has confirmed the BMW Sauber team will switch to Ferrari engines in its new era of ownership next season.


The German carmaker announced last week that it had agreed to sell the team to Swiss-based investment foundation Qadbak Investments, although its place on the 2010 grid is not yet certain after the FIA gave Lotus the final guaranteed position.

It will be interesting if Kubica stays now though i dont think BMW's problem was the engine?

Like your thinking, although it could be used as a sort of waiting area for Alonso if Kimi won't budge on his contract. Thing is though, Toro Rosso are also Ferrari powered, giving Ferrari more options of where to stick Kimi.

I think it would be Kimi going back to Sauber.
Torro Rosso have drivers sorted for next year. There is no way they will have the budget to afford Kimi.

But the deal for Kimi is Ferrari pay his salary next year if he switches teams IIRC. Might be attractive to one of the newer teams, don't need to pay the driver. Although I'd prefer to see Kimi eating Magnums from a McLaren fridge

Really? Saving nearly 1000 jobs in the process. Yet just because BMW tried to fk Williams over, you would prefer them to go bust. It also means there will be more cars on the grid.
