Looking for a GTO 3R... again!
Discussion
Hello from Italy!
I know you read this kind of post almost ten times a week, but if I want a perfect Noble, I know I have to look for it in an internet community like this.
I've seen on the ads a couple of interesting cars, they seem to be very well cared of, but I prefer to ask directly here, because maybe there is someone who could sell me his car without having posted an ad.
So, here's my wish list:
- Noble GTO 3r, but I will consider a GTO 3, if well upgraded. Even a 2.5 if very very well cared, upgraded and quoted reasonably.
- Well cared, service history, always garaged and corrosion-free.
- I prefer a "strong" colour, like Orange, Red, Yellow, but anything considered... Blue is better than grey.
- 6 speed gearbox, LSD.
- Full Leather, possibly.
Am I asking too much?
I travel in UK about every month. This weekend I'll be in London (for a marriage party on saturday)... If someone wants to meet me and show the car maybe we could arrange a sale at hte speed of light.
Well, go ahead with your offers!!

Thank you, I was waiting fot your reply
Yours seems to be on of the best available, if not the best. If it were orange...but however I am really interested.
Well, just some (secondary) questions:
Is the A/C working well? In Italy a good AC is a must. For example my Exige 240 has an AC system that sometimes is not enough.
MPG on motorways with a remap? I know it's not really important with these cars, but...just to know if it will be the faster from a petrol station to another.
What about shifting? I know there are some "lucky" cars with precise shifting and other less precise. One of the reason for which I am selling the Exige is for the bad gearbox, I hope the GTO will be better.

hi.
ok a few answers for you
yes the ac works absolutely fine, the car has just had a major service with everything checked, including new goodyear eagle F1 tyres
about the gear change, mine is a little bit stiff when cold but when the gearbox has warmed up after say about 10 minutes the change is really good and positive, very precise.
i thought about looking into it being stiff when cold but as so many people complain about poor gear shift on the M12 i decided to leave it alone as it is really good after warm up.
i also thought about the upgrade to the m400 system but as i say when warm i cant fault it at all so couldnt justify the cost for the minimal benefits it would bring.
also sent you a mail mate, perhaps you would like to start dialog over email or if you prefer i can give you a call for an old fashioned chit chat.

oops forgot your question regarding miles per gallon.
I am a field support engineer for a major uk engineering firm and spend alot of my time in germany. (car is in uk at my home address)
on my last long run from germany over to uk at a steady 70 - 80 miles per hour (so pretty much cruising off boost) i reckon i was getting about 28 miles to the gallon which to be honest i was really pleased with comparred to what i used to get from say my evo viii or ix and my skyline when i had them.
also after a 800 mile journey through germany, belgium, holland and france i must say i was felling quite good when i got home. better in fact than the back ache i get when i use my company car (damm golf estate)
i am have that much faith in doing long trips in the noble that i would have no problem in offering to bring it back to germany in the event of a sale if it made collection easier.

Hi Jenx, thanks for your proposal.
I'll arrive in London Stansted today at 16.00. Then I will be in a hotel near Barbican at around 18:00.
So I am free this evening from 18:00 to 22:00, let me know if your location is easy to reach with public transport or if we could meet somewhere easy for both of us.
On Saturday I'll be busy all day with the party
Maybe sunday we could meet somewhere early in the morning, but my flight back to Italy is booked at 11:00 from Stansted, so I don't have much time.
Let me know if you could meet me somewhere, just give me a call or SMS: 0039 347 2822672.
If you could meet me at Stansted will be perfect, but I am asking you too much. I'll refund you with Gas&Beer&Coffe if you could do that.
@Sean, I sent you a mail.
@Brischi, your car will be perfect, LHD and in Italy, but I am looking for something cheaper. I will phone you next week.
