Hi,

Need to replace the PS1s that I've currently got on my M3 and am toying between Goodyear Asymmetrics and Vredestein Sessanta. Anyone run them both on 19 wheels)?

The Goodyears would probably be my top choice apart from the fact that they don't make the right size for the front so I'll have to compromise with a slightly non-standard size and they cost more (at least compared to the cracking deal that Camskill seem to have on the Vredesteins currently of around £565 for all 4). Given I've had to replace disks and pads all round yesterday and been told that the rear springs are also broken (common? expensive to fix?) the PS2s I originally would have gone for are no longer an option.

I'd have pointed you to my comprehensive "Sessanta experience" post on mtorque... if it still existed.

So you'll have to live with the summary:

IMHO, Sessantas are a decent budget tyre if you can't stetch to PS2s.

I found they have a bit less grip than PS2s, squeal/screech a bit more when pushed, but were quite progressive. They have the advantage of being available in standard sizes unlike the Goodyears.

The set I had were **REALLY** hard to get balanced, as they needed a lot of weights, and in the end I had to go to somewhere special with a really accurate balancing machine, to get rid of substantial vibration.
