Morning All,

Wonder if any advice can be given from one of the techs that lurk on these threads. My mates 51-plate Mondeo TDDi died on the M6 yesterday (in the fast lane hehe) and the car will start and run and then dies after a short time - It needed AA'ing home yesterday.

Following fault codes are present...

P1665 Injection pump control mod communication
P0335 Crankshaft position sensor, circuit malfunction
P1246 Alternator loop input circuit fault..

Initial thoughts are the crank sensor? Any other ideas?

Bumpety Bump.

Have been working on this frustrating POS this weekend. Fuel pump from tank is working and the fuel filter is full and under pressure. Engine will start and run at idle, but when load is applied the engine stalls. This is light load to move the car around nib first/reverse, or when the engine is revved (over 2K) with the car in neutral. The car stalls and the rev counter sticks at the last indicated rpm position along with the glowplug light being illuminated.

Crank sensor has been replaced - any further ideas? It is a chuffin Diseasel - it has fuel - the fuel pump and injector pump are working as otherwise the car wouldn't start. It appears to be related to load/pcm?

Myself and mate feel the force has left or is leaving these young jedi hehe

The local fraud dealer has got the fat lady tuning up...

Have you tried a new fuel filter? It sounds like the engine can't get more than a small amount of diesel. I know Exhaust Gas Recirculation valves can give all sorts of trouble, often masquerading as other problems.

Cheers for the reply - Yes - A new OE fuel filter was fitted on Tuesday night - still the same symptoms prevail.

The lift pump (under rear wheel arch) sounds like it is working quite hard and also runs for about 5 secs after ignition key off. This doesn't seem right...

Has anybody got a TDDi that could check this out on my behalf - i.e does your pump run on after key off? Be really appreciated.

The problem is fuelling - but going straight to main injector pump is pretty scary in terms of cost and Haynes ***** Spanner rating hehe

D'oh! Well thank goodness it was something relatively trivial smile

I guess I was on the right lines with fuel delivery. Ah well!
