I love the PSP and rushed out to get one when it was launched and it now travels with me whenever I’m away on business or on holiday. I’ve just been reading up on this new PSP GO, what on earth are Sony bothering for, its looks like a complete waste of time and money!! But these reasons just put me off completely;
• It’s no more powerful than the current PSP, just smaller.
• It costs £250!!!!
• There’s no UMD drive so you can’t play any existing games, plus Sony has said they have no plans to allow downloads of already owned game.
• All games have to be purchased directly from Sony, which are all RRP, therefore you pay more than you would for a UMD, and you get nothing tangible for your money.
I’m defiantly going to pass this one up, it could have been something special but I can’t see it being successfully, perhaps in Japan but certainly not here. I know the digital (on demand) age is upon us, but I for one do not like paying for something that isnt tangible, so that’s what kills it for me.

, it's the sort of thing that i'll by when my current psp breaks. And the no umd, what was wrong with buying games instore?There might be a replacement for the normal PSP with a UMD drive that will be sold along with the PSP Go - http://psp.about.com/b/2009/09/01/psp-4000.htm
I've pre-ordered one as my launch-day PSP-1000 is getting a little worse for wear. Apparently there will be a way to transfer your current UMD games onto the device, and of course it comes with Gran Turismo. Hopefully it'll mean I don't have to carry multiple UMDs when I travel now, and run the risk of breaking the fragile little buggers.
Anyone know if it links up with the PS3 in any way? I've just bought one today and I can't figure out if my current PSP does anything with it?

As far as i know the PSP Go will work as a remote for the PS3, so not a controller, but BluRay remote.
I agree with everyone else though, your paying more for less. I also want something tangible for my money, so downloading games doesn't work for me, what about when your bored of the game and want to sell it on or trade it in? can't be done!
Also, the memory is too limited for having to install games in it, with UMD's you could take as many as you want on holiday etc, now you'll only be able to take what you can fit on the memory of the console.
