We had it here in Guildford too, quite a few of the big yellow ones were involved.

I get on well with the guys down at my local, and when my Dad died they were asking how he was as they hadn't seen him in a while.

Not sure if their doing it deliberately! hehe

It's a bigger problem than you may be aware and so easy once you know how. I was selling solutions to retailers around this specific problem and it's absolutely rife.
It's not normally a big issue for the card holder as most of the cloned cards are distributed overseas (Dominican Republic especially) as chip & pin isn't the norm over there.
Cloned cards are rarely used in this country as most retailers use C&P and the fraudsters haven't yet been able to decrypt the chip.

Scary stuff!

I'm not entirely sure how true it is but I've been told this by a couple of people in the industry and even by a chap working fairly high up for Natwest. Some of our card details are stored overseas and many bank employees are also working overseas and it's apparently not uncommon for them to sell your bank details on to someone else for not a great deal of money.

A good deal of the banks' call centres are based overseas and have access to details you've probably forgotten about. There have been publicised cases where call centre staff have sold their clients data and why wouldn't they? These guys get paid a pittance so when some unscrupulous geezer turns up and offers you a life changing amount of money for the data, what do you think they'll do?
On the retail front, it's not just petrol stations you should be worried about! Most of the big retailers have been compromised but have kept it quiet so their brand image isn't damaged.
Ken Dodd was right! Keep your dosh under your mattress and pay cash for everything.

Another one here for the yellow and red (although this is the one at Beaconsfield services). Aparently I have recently had a very expensive holiday in Thailand!
