Hi Guys,
This morning I obviously didn't close my boot properly so by the time I slowed to a speed at which I could hear, I could hear the boot release clicking constantly. Some kind bod let me know that my boot was open as well so when I stopped I went to close it but the release was still constantly clicking. I did managed to close the boot (with no additional force required) but it won't let me in!
Any ideas?
Cheers

my boot release does exactly the same thing. Was travelling up the motorway at an undisclosed speed with the boot open, didnt realise until the downforce got so much it lifted the boot completely open, nice! It's done the old multiple click thingy a number of times. I pulled the badge back from the foam/body ever so slightly and it seems to dissapear. Also try arming then unarming the alarm this seems to fix it as well. No idea why!!!

The badge on the back panel covers a micro switch which is the boot release. The badge is held in place with two treaded bits that pass through the back panel and held in place with a couple of small nuts. There are also two springs covered in rubber, one on each of the threaded bits behind the badge, and depending upon how tight the nuts inside the boot are tightened, will depend upon the clearance behind the back of the badge and the micro switch.I suspect that in your case some dirt has got behind the badge, mine was filthy when i changed my rear badge, or you have some water ingress causing the switch to operate 'electrically'. You have to pull some carpet away in the boot, which is glued down,to reveal a recess. In side this you will see the wiring for the microswitch and the two retaining nuts.
I would carefully remove the badge, clean and seal if nessesary and replace..Careful how yyou tightened the retaining nuts, otherwise the microswitch will keep 'clicking' away!

Unfortunately my main problem is I can't get into the boot at all. The switch is working because I can hear it, but I think I've confused it by closing the boot whilst it was continuously clicking.
Once I get in the boot I'm sure the problem will rectify itself, but I just need to get in!

One boot fixed!
The wire that connects the boot release to the microswitch had snapped, probably due to it operating continuously when the boot wasn't shut properly. I have now attached more firmly that it ever was and sprayed some WD40 around the area to ensure I get no water messing things up.
Thanks for all the advice guys.
