Leaving a dog

Having never really liked animals, I find myself in somewhat of a sad situation.

The OH and I have spent the summer in the same village as her mother and are heading back to London tonight. Over the summer I have become very attached to the dog. I take him for walks every day along the Severn and he sits by me whenever we are over at the MiL's. I'm really going to miss him, I normally dislike animals but he is a really good guy.

Can't have a dog in London.

Nothing wrong with becoming attached to a good and loyal dog. It's only natural if he has been a good companion.

And when you next go back, he will be so glad to see you, he'll go barmy when you arrive and want loads of attention. No matter how old he will behave like a puppy. You have a friend for life.

You will be happy to visit your MIL more than previously too.

Too bloody right, coming back for a birthday in November and I'm sure he'll be smelling his milk when I'm still on the M5
