Does anyone on here compare in the pre-1993 touring car championship. I've got a 1989 200sx s13, with i'm looking to enter. By the looks of it reading the regulations a turboed car is allowed to entry provided it was fitted during manufacturing. Can you tell me how competitive the series is, looking to race it somewhere somehow, no matter if it'd be a struggle to win.

Just out of curiosity, say i want to enter it in the britcar or british touring car (not that i have the money to) would it be allowed, with it being so old. Not too clued up on the rules.

Thanks

Pre '93 looks competitive & Toyo Tires Saloons is almost, if not exactly, identical. CSCC Future Classics could also be a good option. On here Stacy will quite rightly champion Toyo Tires whilst Andy97 will quite rightly champion Future Classics. Both provide a good track time return for your money, you won't go wrong with either, whilst Pre '93 provides the rare opportunty to race at Thruxton.
Britcar? yes, theres an Escort in Britcar Production this year. British Touring Car? a simple no.

As MSP has said, I am a big advocate of the CSCC series & their 30 min practice, 40 min race arrangements for one or two drivers. Your 1989 200 SX would be eligible for the CSCC'c "Future Classics" series. The next race is on the weekend of 17/18 October at Snetterton if you want to come along and see what its all about. I think that the FC race is on the sunday.

Hi,

Your car couldn't run in the BTCC because it needs to be a car currently homologated and conforming to various other requirements. Besides, you probably don't have an artic to turn up in.

Britcar is probably more accomodating, but you'll need to spend a lot of money and will still probably come last.

I chose to do TTRS rather than 93's. Grid sizes were a major factor, cheaper entry fees slightly, and a higher number of the drivers I wanted to race against were going there too.

In terms of regs there are some differences, 93's allow larger brakes and some adjustable suspension components. TTRS allows you to throw away a mechanical injection system and fit carbs should you choose. TTRS also allows in slightly later cars.

The Nissan would be quick in it's class if prepared, I looked at one a few years ago.

The missing suggestion here is the Nippon Challenge. All Japanese and I've toyed with doing a couple with my more modified FB RX7 myself. Grids are half sensible, but there are some hot rods at the front - sheesh.

If you enter the CTCRC's pre-93 championship you can also enter the same clubs Classic Thunder races at a heavily discouted rate. We already an s14 (I think, it might be an s15, can't remember what the bumper/bonnet looked like) running in Classic Thunder.

Let me know if you need any more information and I'll get the pre-93 co-ordinator to get in touch.

Thanks.
