If it's a LS2 with an E40 ECM, there is a patch available in efilive which fixes this bug. It did in mine anyway!

ECM is your cars computer Mate. It's on your front nearside wing under the bonnet, silvery metal oblong thing with fins and 3 plugs going in.

Well mines an auto so I had other things going on too, but the reflash with the patch cured them. Anyone with an efilive can do this for you but you'd have to buy a license for the reflash.

I don't know whether this can be done with a Tech 2 (Dealers gadget for fixing your ecm etc.) Somebody else might throw some light on this too.

The patch for the ecu operating system is for fixing an issue where traction control is permanently off when running no maf. I applied it when AutoVE tuning mine. So this isn't likely the issue.
If you haven't got check engine lights I'd not worry, It will probably fix itself. Think mine did this for while also.

Who needs TC anyway biggrin

If he was revving it hard the Maf could've maxed out, still could have been the problem then?

Has the motor had a tune 007?

Possible, but if it's a permenant issue you would expect a maf failure code to set off the MIL light.

Unless there's something unsual on the tune...

Like alterations to the Maf frequency?

That would just through the fuelling off.
Somehow the frequency output from the maf could have exceeded the expected limits held in the tune. Changing these values is the main method for disabling the maf for running SD, and yes would cause the TC to disable without the patch.

There are also values for expected airflow at set RPM's etc. Could be that excessive revving at a standstill with no load may have tripped these values. Causing a similar effect.
All speculation though. Could try seeing if any codes were thrown.

If it was a one off don't worry about it.
