Why Are Nightclubs Rubbish?

As a Uni student, most would expect me to live in these places. But after tonight I can't stand them. Takes f
king ages to que up, costs a small fortune to get in, when you do the drinks are expensive and it stinks of piss. And if its anything like where I've been tonight, everybody seems to be a rude . Trying to talk to people and they just fk off.
Now, call me old fashioned or whatever, but a couple of nice pints down the local pub is much nicer. People are much friendlier, you'll tend to be with more friends who won't fking abandon you in the middle of the place, and best of all it doesn't smell of piss.

Try a Derby & Joan club, sounds like it's much more your scene

A few drinks and a chin wag in the right pub at the right time is great. However, there are probably more pubs than nightclubs that stink of wee, charge the earth and are full of the questionable. In some respects, it is all about attitude & expectation and which pub/nightclub you actually go in - knowledge and luck of the draw on that one (esp in terms of clientele).
I've been in some horrid nightclubs and some of them were nicely decorated, I didn't have to queue etc (and I've been in plenty of places over the years), but the 3 best ones I've ever managed were all in many respects stholes and none were ever all that cheap. However, the common theme across all of them was great, great music, good company and a top atmosphere generally. Oh and nice scenery always helps
Is it worth widening your horizons rather than being dismissive? Although if that isn't ever going to work, fair do's, we all have different views on life!

Last year i would have shot you for saying that...I was going out nightly, knew all the great bars and clubs. I started at 6pm in the pubs and was out until 3am when the clubs shut only to go to a friends house to carry on the party until 6am. Then all of a sudden it seemed to change.
Its like every club in the area has suddenly turfed out all the good people that just wanted to dance, talk and get drunk out and replaced them with half witted tits. Last year, whilst smashed i knocked into loads of people accidently and instead of playing dodge the punches they would usually come up, start talking and then their group would join with us we would all have fun and a dance...if they were really nice we might invite them back for the after-party.
Lately finding decent people that will even look at you never mind talk to you has become impossible...I think half of it is the fact that a lot of the young but not only just 18 folk have stopped coming out as often due to lack of funds...the bars seem a lot emptier these days...I just havn't bothered the last few months.
