Removing and painting the door handles

Just after a quick bit of advice about removing the door handles - is it just a case of removing the two nuts holding the mechanism in place inside the door?....or something else?

I have the door panel off whilst fitting electric windows and want to colour code the black (well grey now) handle at the same time....any painting tips?

yes its just 2 nuts.i did my handles with plastic primer then a bit of high build primer ,colour then 2 pack laquer

I had the handles and the mirror trims colour coded to match the car, it does look a lot better. However if you do this you will need to fill the front if the hanle as there is 2 small dents in the face of the handle that show up when sprayed
