My Cerb is back and better than ever. Had quite a lot done to make it pretty much perfect now:-

Dismantle inlet and free throttle shaft (No1 bank)
Repair inlet manifold plastic bits
Fit new purple hoses
Remove extra return spring
Oil pressure relief spring
Paint calipers
Replace most of the bolts under the bonnet for new shiny ones.
Coolant flush and replace
Braided brake Hoses
Tig weld exhause
New Top Diff bush
Steering UJ joint (and gaitor)
Remove dodgey radar jammer wiring
Rewire behind dash (make it safe and good)
Replace fag lighter
Remove and refit properly the heater control panel
Fix boot mech
Engine set up
Change Brake light switch
New exhaust hanger
Wash and hoover etc
etc etc...
The car is running so well. I thought it was pretty good before but now is exceptional. The diff bush, steering and throttle fixes make the car so much easier to drive with confidence.
I sound like a walking advert for Raceproved but moving to near Sheffield and away from APM had worried me re who to trust a Cerb too. Raceproved are fantastic engineering, service and price.

I need to raise the bonnet every so much so as to stop a pipe and the bonnet rubbing (the old ones also did this).
I tried the rubber mushrooms with araldite (didnt fancy drilling a hole in the top of the panel) but they didnt stay on. So will try the squishy furniture things instead.

Why don't you just put a spacer under the mounts on the bonnet? I.e. take off the brackets with the rubber o-ring thing, put 3mm of something under there, do it back up. The bonnet will now sit 3mm higher and you'll not really see any difference in terms of panel fit I'd not have thought smile

oh and btw, your engine bay is porn biggrin

Hmmm... this sounds interesting. I think I may have a sticky shaft (oo er), what was the symptom on your car?

I think I'm gonna drill holes for my mushrooms. I have the clearance but the bonnet rattles over bumps.

Initially it was a very stiff throttle but I put that down to the two springs. It then wouldnt drop revs quick enough when I dipped the clutch for a gear change.

Not the same probs I'm having, but you never know. Any idea how difficult it was for them to dismantle? Probably a stupid question as I guess you got someone else to do it as its not a simple job!

I dont think it was very easy, it took them a little while. Not sure how long but a few hrs.

Its not a simple job, and its not a perminent job either frown.

You can get the shaft to turn very freely on the bench, but when you put it back on the car and bolt it down the thing jams again with the fractional distortion of clamping.

If you ever take the throttlr bodies off again you will likely be starting from scratch.

The best mod seems to be roller bearings.

The 4.2 inlets are far superior in this respect.

Saw your Cerb in RaceProved - looked great in that colour with the dark wheels.

Glad to hear they've got you back up and running well again.

Lordy, that doesn't look good frown

The car must have been running pretty badly before the pipes were replaced.
Didn't you fancy the short induction and remap while you were at it?
I think the short pipes last longer than the standard ones (although maybe the short kits haven't been around for long enough
for that statement to be conclusive).

Car runs well now and has plenty enough power for me. So in no great rush for short induction and remap.
