Anybody in the antique watch busines ?
Discussion
Hi anybody out there know anything about old watches or recommend someone in the Edinburgh area ?
Was given a pocket watch by my mum yesterday which came from my Grandfather and/or possibly from my great grandfather.
Apart from being able to tell it's silver and carries the anchor mark for Birmingham I'm at a bit of a loss. It also has a stylised "t" stamped on it and the letters CH and GC&co.
Had a hunt on the web and by the looks of it the "t" could mean either 1817 or 1918, the latter being more likely I would have thought.
Any pointers ?
Thanks
Oops please ignore the spelling mistake in the title !!

Other place is John Whyte Jewellers - Rose Street, Edinburgh.
