Must have option is the recaro seats, standard seats are very uncomfortable, it's a commmon complaint especially if you're doing that many miles. Not easy to find though.
Back in June I bought a 56 plate with 28k for £9995, but that was an estate which tend to cost about £500-£1000 more.
Best get yourself over to www.stdrivers.co.uk for more info.
There are quite a few common problems with the ST TDCI, like any car I guess. But yours will be under warranty so no need to worry just yet.

Though an ST provides fun in the twisty bits IMO 1000 miles per week is seriously big mileage and you should consider a normal mondeo (Titanium is availble with the ST's 2.2 tdci lump) as you will lose so much in depreciation by giving it starship mileage that paying the premium to own a sporty model will be pointless.
I've had mine since November 2006, and done 75k in it. (Just ticked onto 80k miles)
It's been great. The ride is quite firm, if you don't drive on twisty roads much, a normal Mondeo, as recommended above, would be more comfortable... However, I wouldn't change mine for a Ghia X even if I was on motorways 24/7. It may be firm, but it's still pretty good, and it is very good fun for a rep saloon car on twisty roads. It manages the nice trick of both riding and handling better than my '95 Audi S6.
Mine has the Recaros, and I would echo the above comment, because they are the best seats I've had in any of my cars.
currently running at 41mpg, driven on Welsh A roads. I've only had one issue, which was the EGR valve. Didn't cause a major hassle, just a "safe mode" from the engine, and sorted by Ford the next day under warranty.
Tires can sting a bit, but it really is worth getting some decent ones. I've got horrid cheapys on the front, and PilotSport 2's on the back (no choice... Sidewall puncture... the only ones available and I had 2 hours before a 300 mile journey) and they have ruined the car. The steering isn't what it was, and the grip, especially in the wet is scary bad. Still, they are nearly worn out.
I've been wondering about changing it for a Jag XJ TDVI, or BMW 3355d, however it does everything so well I've decided to run it into the ground, and spend the money on the other "projects".
