Dash

Noticed over the weekend that the dash on my precat has started to crack . This will be at least the 3rd one (have a history file) is there a solution to this, apart from continually replacing the dash? I've seen the "ally" and carbon ones but to me they don't (IMHO) look right.

It suggests to me that your car may be damp. Is it garaged/does it leak? If it is garaged, do you leave the windows down a bit to allow ventilation? I have tried using a small dehumidifier - the type you can get from caravan (!) shops - containing moisture absorbing crystals. I don't know how effective they are but my garage doesn't have an electricity supply to run a proper dehumidifier.
I think it also depends whether the dash is under any stress and how often it gets pulled out/put back in.

Have you had any major respray work done?

The baking process doesn't do the dash any good and my dash cracked after my respray.

no leaks (actually better than the 01 SE I had) no respray and normally left in the open. I think the that the last dash change(before my ownership)quality was a bit iffy.

It was done by previous owners I have a couple of invoices in the history file, it will be a first for me.
