Ball watches

Saw these (but had never heard of them) yesterday in an Ernest Jones window. Some nice looking watches, anybody got any experience of them?

American brand, something to do with railways (may have done pocket watches for train drivers in the dim and distant past). I belive that they are now made in China but not 100% on that.

Don't know who own's them now or even if they are still independant. Think all/almost all of their watches have tritium vials.

Hmmm, window display said Swiss and most were in the £1-3k price range.

Certainly use swiss movements and may even be entirely made in Switzerland. Sure I've heard China mentioned somewhere though.

Not saying that is necessarily a bad thing though, I'm sure there are lots of watches in a similar price band that are Chinese made.

wouldn't need a minute and second hand, perhaps just a symbol for a birthday cake and a xmas tree
