355 diff WANTED
Discussion
I have a feeling that Nad had one of these for sale a while back, not sure if she ever sold it, might be worth trying to get in contact with her and seeing if she still has it...
Don't take this the wrong way... (And I know that I am not alone with my thoughts), But I am a little confused about why you are looking at buying all these parts and bits, when you have your car up for sale? Or is it more of an if it sells it sells, testing the water idea, rather than a definite decision to sell?

it is a case if it sells it sells.Don't take this the wrong way... i had a few retards making low offers plus a couple of time wasting pr**ks who probably can't afford the fuel to get home never mind the car.
if it sells i will get an acr if not i will put some other bits and pieces on it and probably keep it.
after the above comments i think i will leave the diff as stock.
I changed from 3-45's to a 4-10 rear axle in my ZR1
The main reason was for a more driveable 6th gear on the motorway which I now have. I never used to use 6th unless doing 100mph or more mainly because of noise.
1st is pretty much useless but may be better when I get some stickier tyres.
I miss the car's tall gearing but the extra pull in 2nd and 3rd more than make up for it. I do still have my other diff however so can change the car back around with a couple of hours work. I also miss the top end from time to time.
I wouldnt do this in any other vette as at least I can rev the ZR1 to 7500rpm to make full use of each gear, in any other push rod vette the lower peak rpm would mean an even shorter time between shifts. I dont know what the vipers rev to.
People get much quicker times dragging the car with 4-10's in the states however with 410s on street tyres getting off the line without lighting up the rears is a nightmare. 3-85's would have been a better ratio but no available speed correction gears for the ZF box for that ratio.

BTW i thought Vipers ran with 4-10 rear gears as stock?
