Cardiff Devils, beat the Blaze last night quite comfortably
Heard the Lightning did well on the weekend, beat the Phoenix didn't you?
P.S You might want to go to www.TheHockeyForum.co.uk

Yep, we beat Romford 3-2 on Saturday, but it was difficult, boy do they like a rough game!
We had Pheonix in the bag after 2 periods but let slip and it ended 3-2 again last night.
Top of the table now for MK!
Cardiff Devils eh? You guys are in the big league.
Someone I know just came back from Belfast to MK and it shows!
PS... that forum is not accepting registration at the moment!

I used to go skating a lot in Slough when I was at school (we're talking 20yrs ago here) and if you bought a ticket to the skating sessions after the games, they used to let you before the game had finished. Used to get to watch a fair amount that way, and really enjoyed it!
I don't know if it was rose-tinted spectacle time, though, or if English ice hockey is better than the American stuff, but I made the mistake of going to see the NHL game at the O2 (Annaheim Ducks against someone I can't remember) and it was the most disappointing sporting spectacle I have ever seen.
The whistle seemed to blow up every 5 seconds, and the game was constantly stopping for no apparent reason. We left after over 2 hours had elapsed, with 13 minutes still left on the clock, and went to watch the Wales vs Fiji RWC game, iirc, in the pub instead. I'd say by that time at least a third of the crowd had drifted away out of sheer boredom.
I am tempted to go and watch Guildford play, but how long does it actually take to get through 60 minutes of play in an English game?

Go and see them, its very good.. Good atmosphere too! I've been a few times, always like it there.. Much easier to watch live rather than trying to watch NHL on TV, you just follow the camera rather than trying to find where the puck is on TV

Guildford Flames for me.. One of my mates Dad has his shirt up in the ceiling in the hall of fame type thing

Used to be a season ticket holder at Manchester (Storm and then Phoenix) when they played out of the MEN arena. Started to loose interest when they took the time out while trying to sort a new home out. I now go to just a couple of home games a season now they play at Altrincham.
I still follow the sport via TheHockeyForum and other club sites. I'll try to get to a game next month.

When the MK Lightning play we usually arrive at 6.45pm for a good spot for the 7pm faceoff and we are usually out of the rink by 9.10pm. We actually played Guildford 2 weeks ago and was an awesome match due to our old captain now playing for the Flames. I will be going to Guildford on the 21st of November to watch round 2 of the rivalry. We can have a mini-PH meet up if anybody is tempted to go?Flying Toilet said:

Peterborough seem to be our biggest rivals.
Hi everyone. I used to play a few years back but now have to settle for watching.
I follow the Hull Stingrays and Peterborough Phantoms as I started at Hull before moving through the ranks at Peterborough.
Living in Northampton and having a wife who doesn't really want to watch I only get to the odd game. MK is closest, but can't go to watch Peterborough's biggest rivals, I'd be cheering for the visitors each game!

Not a season ticket holder but I used to go a lot to the MEN. It's hard to imagine now that they used to be able to fill the arena. The crowds were massive.I still follow the sport via TheHockeyForum and other club sites. I'll try to get to a game next month.

Used to watch the MK Kings when planet ice first took over the rink, never really got on with the lightning as i found the lower league they started in a very low standard of play. Might pop down one weekend and have a look.
Is Dumas really still playing? He was about 50 when he was playing for the kings!
