Alfa Colour Combinations
Discussion
With the hunt for an Alfa still progressing, I’m finding it difficult to decide on colour combinations.
I'm torn between the classic solid red paint work with tan leather interior or black with the red leather interior?
Is there a combination that is seen as 'the must have' or is purely down to personal preference?

Really is personal preference, and partly down to the car type/size as well.
I think red paint looks rubbish on the 166, but I wanted cream leather and I think that needs dark bodywork to set it off. Dark metallic blue with cream leather is what I ended up with, still very happy with it.

Different colours for different cars.Smaller cars look good in Alfa Red, bigger ones don't. The GTV/Spider in red look cheap, the GT in red looks slabby. The 156 just about gets away with it, the 159* doesn't.
Like most things, it's personal preference really.

* my 159 is Alfa Red
Jamie, I think the 159 looks good in red, especially in Ti spec, but it really is such a personal thing.
As mentioned above I think it's important the interior colour works well with the exterior too. I really wanted the blue and tobacco leather and it seemed to work best with silver, which wouldn't normally be my first choice but as a combination I'm really pleased with it.
I must say I'm not a fan of the cream, grey or white leather (as seen only once on an imported GTV) but that's just a hang up I have on any car, not just Alfas!

 I suppose I don't dislike it, or at least not as much as when I bought it. I just don't think it's the most flattering colour for it.Gratuitous picture of my postbus, filthy, in the lakes:

I think it's just because it's physically a big car, there's just so much red.

I'm definitely feeling black with red leather!
Does anyone have a 156 in this combination, actually, who fancies putting up some high-quality photos? Just to reinforce the point.. and so I can admire, really..

Cream/Beige is very nice too, but doesn't age as well as red/black.
I'll take some pictures later.
I once nearly bought a 156 2.4JTD which was silver with a blue leather interior (not a bright blue but a greyish blue). Really looked fantastic. Never seen another one since.
My three alfas have been red with black leather, red with black leather and now bright metallic blue with black leather.

Not for me that one Philip. Just don't like that colour in any car. Reminds me of my Gran's hearing aid.
