Watch recommendations £300ish
Discussion
Hey guys, it was recently my birthday so decided to put the money I got into getting a watch, I know there has been a few threads of this ilk so sorry to do it again but just want some opinions from you guys! I have seen a few watches I like, but just wanted to make sure i'm not missing out any options.
Ideally I would be after an automatic watch and here are the watches I like so if you could give me some ideas on similar watches I may have missed.
I really liked the new Christopher Ward C40, but this is just out of my budget currently, and the C6 King Dive Pro but did not want a watch with an orange face, this obviously leaves the normal C6 but as this is not automatic I dismissed it.
I also really like the Seiko Automatic Divers watch - and finally I liked the Vostok K3 Submarine and Tissot PRS516.
Most of these watches have a fairly similar design with a black face/silver bracelet but would be open to suggestions but nothing too bright. If anybody has any suggestions or the best from these lot it would be appreciated.
Many Thanks
SoliD

Word of warning. Some sites (no names mentioned) are selling Seiko automatic divers for around the £300 mark (specifically watches like the SKX007 and SKX009); you can easily pick them up in very, very good used condition on tz-uk.com for under £100. You can source brand new ones direct from Hong Kong for (guessing) £150.

Thanks I have found the SKX007K I posted for £122 by the sounds this is a very good price having an rrp of £220? I'm not a great fan of the monsters i'm afraid, and not really a fan of black bracelets. Thanks for the suggestions though.
If I had around £300 right now I would buy this

The only trouble is, I've never seen one in real life.

If you're looking at Seikos, a few of us on here have used this seller :
http://www.creationwatches.com/products/seiko-127/
If it were my 300, I'd buy a quartz Tissot PRC 200 :
... and a Seiko Monster on a rubber strap :
You now have a watch for every occasion and you've only gone about 40 quid over budget. That doesn't matter though because you'll be back on this forum desperately sniffing out your next watch fix within a month spending another 200 quid. Be warned !

I think I'd go for the Tissot from your list (do you mean this variant as there are a few flavours of the 516):
Yes but with the steel bracelet black face.sneijder said:

Thats where I had seen the SKX007 Divers from, as I said i'm not a fan of a monster, and I currently have an old swatch watch that is in relatively good condition that I will use for mountaing biking and the like to keep my new one in better condition! http://www.creationwatches.com/products/seiko-127/

I have that Seiko diver, but with the blue dial and "pepsi" bezel. It's absolutely lovely, keeps brilliant time and was a great present from my best mate for my wedding. Only thing I don't like about it is the bracelet. I've had to adjust it very tight as the design means it only secures with two links down the middle of the strap, so it wobbles left and right very easily.
For £300 I'd be looking at a Hamilton, probably a Khaki automatic. Either that or a quartz Tag.

I plumped for the Seiko in the end, got it from creationwatches http://www.creationwatches.com/products/seiko-dive... so hopefully turn up at some point next week, this way save myself a bit of money for other bits and pieces I need, then can save up and get something a bit more plush in a year or so if I keep browsing these forums

You'll be lucky! This forum (and its recommendation to sign up for a couple of other watch-specific ones) is singlehandedly responsible for me acquiring almost 50 watches in the last 8-10 weeks. Budget for the new car is rapidly diminishing.

All this, and my birthday is only a month away...

Typical price range? I mean of your watches not of the watch you want me to buy you for your birthday.
They vary wildly. Only a couple above £350, lots around £100, loads of G-Shocks around £50-80. Most of the "project" ones are very cheap, under £20 and I've got a few from friends and family. My Ebay summary says in the last 60 days I have spent over £1200. I don't recall buying anything other than watches... Typical price range? Well it turned up today, very impressed went to my local jewellers to get the bracelet fitted to size, nice weight, although not especially bigger than my last cheap swatch watch it is much bigger depth wise, and obviously a bit heavier but not inconvieniently or annoyingly so. Pleased with my purchase, I shall hopefully refrain from buying my next for at least a few months! Here are some awful pictures taken by my fair (cack) hands.
