Off to a colleague's stag do in a few weeks time. The organiser has left it late in sorting out rooms and consequently we're staying in a city centre hotel with 2+1 beds in each room, meaning most blokes will have to share a double bed.

I wouldn't be too bothered if it were either cheap or the last hotel in town but it's neither of those. I have found a hotel nearby on laterooms which will do a twin room for me and another lad, however what are your thoughts on whether it is bad form to stay somewhere else? Should I just go with the flow and stay in the main place for the one night?

Chances of you ending up in the room you actually booked, as opposed to another bed, another sofa, neck-cricked in a chair, a strangers flat or casualty.

Minimal - best of luck!

Stay somewhere else, I've lumped it in the past and it can ruin an otherwise great evening if you wake up covered in someone else's vomit, it's their fk up not yours.

...because smothering a drunk, snoring cu'stard is far too tempting at 4am

Done it when younger, no probs at all sharing a bed with one of my friends, wouldnt be so keen if it was friend-of-a-friend-of-a-friend.....

Having said that, I'm so old and crusty these days I'd rather not if at all possible...

Get the other hotel.

personally would go somewhere else nearby ... or alternatively as Dev suggests, pull the stripper / some other lass in the bar and just stay at hers .....

Book the other room and say nowt. Slip away when everyone is drunk. Tell them in the morning you copped off with a local contortionist.

Sharing a bed does not make you catch gay, grow up.

Simple solution: ask for more pillows, and have these down the middle. You wont notice the other person is there, then (apart from draggin the duvet of course)

Just be careful your beer goggle don't get too thick. "Where's your hand?" "Between two pillows" "Those aren't pillows!!!!"

Best advice so far.

should be fine unless the stag do involves guiness and curry, if that is the case then a seperate bed... hell I would go for a seperate room after being forced to share a room on a trip to ireland... the smell was horrendous..

Morning Soxboy.

I think you have to ask yourself this:

Do you regard yourself as someone prone to random moments of acutely bad luck?

If so, it is almost a certainty that you'll end up in the same bed as a snoring-moaning-sweaty-sleep-masturbator.

Rent/borrow a Winnebago.

edit: for spelling of 'masturbator'. The irony that I failed to spell this word correctly is massive

How about sleeping on the floor or sofa? I think it's better to all be in the same hotel on a stag trip.
