I think it's a good reason to get both. And let's face it, who wouldn't gain a certain ammount of childish amusement from simply having a fire engine and a lake at their disposal, even if they didn't combine them to create a personal jet pack!

fire engine pumps the thousands of gallons of water through it (that's also what you need the lake for)

No fire engine needed. It comes with a motor on a boat/tether that pumps the water.
