Not sure which is preferred as I've seen both, anyway...

I'm wanting to get a Toshi strap to replace the tired standard black leather one on my IWC Pilot's Chrono and I'd like to switch to a deployment clasp over the standard open one.

I've been to see the usual highstreet suspects (WoS & Laings) who've told me it will cost £220+ to get a genuine IWC version. Where is a good place to get a reasonable (read good) quality clasp from that can fit a 20mm Toshi leather strap?

I'd check with Rich for his recommendation. The leather on his straps is usually pretty thick as you know, so you might need something a bit out of the ordinary. The Sinn U series clasps certainly work with a Toshi, but I can't see one of them going with the watch TBH.

I was recently looking for a classy, but sensibly priced clasp to go with the very expensive Trieste strap I have for my GO Sport Evo. RRP on the Glashutte Original deployant (not deployment) clasp alone was £240 yikes I was prepared to spend up to about £75.00 on a really good clasp, but all the advice I got (via TZ-UK) was I'd be wasting my money, so I got one of the £12.95 jobbies from these guys http://www.watchworx.co.uk/pages/access/deploy.htm... & whilst it's not the very best, it's not too bad at all for the price and doesn't "shame" the strap.

HTH

Just a thought - are you sure a Toshi, won't be too chunky for the watch anyway? Worth getting Rich's thoughts on that before ordering.

Apologie to Rich for pinching the photo (for illustration only), copyright etc goes to Mr. Maskell.

Here's the photo that has the watch/strap combo I like...

I've emailed Rich for advice and await a response.
