Hey, I've just noticed that the old 280i Wedge comes in a 2plus2 fixed head. I was under the impression that the Cerbie was the only wife + 2 kids car that TVR built (unfortunately out of my price range). At the moment my 2 sons have to take it in turns to go out for a blast with me in my Chimaera.
Maybe I could complement the fleet with a 2plus2 for spins to the seaside.....Hummmmmm.
As a teenager I was always in awe of the Wedge and this is where my love affair with TVRs began.
Has any one else pondered along this thread? What would be the cost of a modestly priced 'family car' and are there any other options that I haven't considered? (A non TVR idea was a Stag (with the usual Rover V8 replacement of the standard 3.0 litre Triumph unit which I understand usually dies) Open top is of course preferable but I guess impossible in the realms of TVRdom).
Cheers.
P.S. Just opened Sprint - I guess the Zante was also a 4 seater. Also noticed the price of 280i FHCs - about £3,300 for an '84. When's my next bonus?

Tasmin 2+2s are one of the rearest of the cars (only 47 built with the majority 1981 models) and quite a few have subsequently become tassie racers. Chances of getting a good one not high.
The +2 seats are also not real seats more like a parcel shelf with a back restrant!

I bought a 2+2 not long ago, it was not too good condition but still does the business!.
Have to agree with Steve that the seats in the back are very small, it would depend how old your kids are I suppose. Six foot spotty teenagers brought up on hormonal Mcdonalds burgers would have a hard time fitting in!
They are still about though so keep looking around.

I bought it for a friend of mine who had been after a TVR for ages.
He took it out for a test drive for the first time and returned after about 15 minutes with a grin from ear to ear! - You never forget your first time.
Anyway, he has since set about taking the thing to bits and has started a rebuild which I will be posting on the site in due course.
Keep checking in.
