Socialism at work.
Now I have another reasdon to hate the t

Probably paid for by the tax payer in any case.
I don't see the problem. It's no more paid for by the tax payer than a watch worn by a doctor, or a banker for that matter (let's not forget it's a legal requirement tohave money paid into a bank account). Besides which of course he could have saved for it for many years, or even spent money he had inherited on the watch. Now I have another reasdon to hate the t

The socialist thing that I would hate is for us to be able to dictate to others which watches they wear, especially if the reason is because we deem them too expensive.

Oh, big f
king deal- so does every politician, what makes Peter Mandelson any different. Surely you could say the same of William Hague, or indeed any one of the many MP's worth millions thanks to their outside interests. Even if you're not a millionaire, the basic wage of an MP would allow for a PP if one were horologically inclined. The fact that Peter Mandleson has a nice watch is as much of a story as some TV celeb bint having a nice car. Envy-media.We are aware he is a memeber of the labour party aren't we?
Its all perception. If I was representing lower to middle income groups I think its a little daft to be wearing such a watch in the same way that if I was selling to top earners I wouldn't wear a digital timex. What do you think labours traditional voters will think who are struggling to earn enough money to pay their mortgage

I fail to see the relationship between studying hard, and being a politician...Most people whom study hard become doctors, lawyers, engineers...
You just need the gift of the gab to become a politician.... Oh and being able to lie and cover your tracks are also useful traits

exactly! The only problem is mandy has helped nurture politics of envy, so at the very least he isn't practising what he preaches.
I like people to be able to earn the nice things in life and am not a jealous person fair play to anybody that does well and makes it big. But this creep has used other peoples wealth as political football for years time for payback I say.

ky than Prince of Darkness after conference. I don't begrudge anyone buying what they can - good luck to them, I think the govt. is a busted flush anyway and one watch here or there won't make much difference. Anyway, someone invented the phrase 'champagne socialist' so it would be a pity not to use it.
