Oil Dipstick

My oil dip stick has decided to detatch itself from the lid of the oil tank. Thankfull I grabbed it before it fell in (burn't myself as the car was fffff'in hot after a 100 mile hoon back from Swindon)

It looks like it was glued in with some sort of epoxy. Does anybody know what type? I guess it needs to be oil/heat stable. My other options were 1) dril and bolt it in place 2) get one of those bling alloy caps (assuming it has the dipper built in) 3) fit a thicker O ring to hold it in place.

Lastly if it did fall in the oil tank would it do any damage?

What glue did you use Shep? The one recommended in the other thread?

None at the moment, I need to get the old epoxy off first to make sure I get a good repair. Seen the stuff in Homebase though just need some time to do it.

i have a new (old stock) one for you..

bought it @ tvrcarparts for my tuscan but mine dipstick is longer.

Thanks for the offer, glued mine up yesterday so I hope it will be OK. If not I will be in touch to see if you still have it.
