I am so livid.
Posted the invitations to our wedding last Thursday, first class. I was expecting to have them delivered within a couple of days. I contacted a couple of people enquiring whether they had recieved their invite. No one had.
Today I recieved one of the self addressed envelopes, with nothing in it. This means the invites have been opened.
My OH is now in tears, as all the effort she had put in to the invites is lost, because some prick has decided that they want to see what is inside.
We know that the problem is in the local sorting office, but trying to get through to the post office to speak to anyone seems impossible.
Why would people steal wedding invites?

try mailing a birthday card or any sort of celebratory card to SA, they always assume some nice ££ notes in there and nick them. pfft.
Got round it now buy mailing them in plain brown envelopes maybe you should try that? seems a bit pathetic to have to do though.

Yes, called post office, eventually got through to someone who told me, "It isn't our fault, if you think someone has stolen them, call the police".

Remind me again why we are all supposed to be so upset that the Post Office is going bust/being privatised/been eaten by Peter Mandelson? It's not even fit to wear the colours of the institution it once was.I'll see what the wedding insurance folk say.
I'm sorry if I seem to be making light of your problem, I'm not. It's awful and I hope that you and especially your OH have forgotten all about it by the time your big day comes around.
Wedding emails are the answer!! (Or more specifically a wedding management system with RSVP's)
Other +ve's are that you can put a wedding present list, google map to the venue etc and photo's after the actual wedding on the site.

I used to work for the Post Office/Royal Mail as a student. I may be wrong, but I think your sorting office is based in Altens. Might be worth turning up and speeking to someone directly.
