Hi All
I apologise in advance if this is a normal question asked weekly, and that there might be a saved thred on purchase advice??. However i would be really grateful for any advice on what to look for on a Cerbera. I used to own a Tuscan S, so have some knowledge on the niggles these great machines bring.
My budget is roughly £10.5 to £11K so very much the bottom end of the scale.
Thanks
Mark

Condition, condition, condition.

Chassis, make sure the outriggers are sound.

If possibly, buy from a PHer, not a guarantee by any means, but at least it'll have been enthusiast owned, which generally means they'd spend first sell second.

Or if the budget stretches.....

So long as the chassis are sound, i'd say they're both worth looking at.

Thanks, does each engine size have different signs of any problem?

Some of the early 4.2s were provided with weak cranks (one batch) it's very likely they've all already gone bang by now, if not, they're not likely to.

SP6 engines are dodgy, but then you'll be aware of that hehe

4.2 and 4.5 are of equal footing, a 4.2 is probably better 'off the shelf' than the 4.5s, but the 4.5 has the slightly better potential if you're chasing horses.

Sorry another question, what is the length and width of the car. Better to ensure it fits in the garage before buying!

1.9m width 4.3m length

Doors are very long, that's your major worry.

It will fit!! although the memories of trying to get in and out of the Tuscan are flooding back. Added to that i am 3 years older and my joints are not as they were!
Also today i have had a change in mortgage circumstances saving £450 per month so its now or never.
However the wife is giving me that look again, its amazing how she remembers how to do it. In fact has anyone worked out the cost of keeping the other half happy, let alone the budget for repairs etc etc.
Hoping to have the funds in a week or two so watch this space.

Buy her the X5 she always wanted as a "family car". Then try not to complain too much when she uses the alloys as parking sensors. Worked for me wink
