Which AMG?

I've decided that my first car stateside will be an AMG, and am fairly sure that I'll be getting a 55 AMG. The only problem I'm having is deciding whether to go for an E, SLK, SL or CLS. I'm leaning towards the two seaters, as given that the wife and I have yet to have kids it would be most practical at the moment. That being said, I'm 6'3" and have tended to feel better in larger cars (my last MB was a CLK55 AMG which I loved).

Anyways, what do you lot think? I'm going to start test drives this weekend....

Brand new? SL55 AMG, then. (Although, personally, I don't like the front end.)

Should probably have said before that I'll be buying used with a budget of $40-50k. Took a while for the new Sls to grow on me, but now I love 'em. Shame they're out of budget.

SL55 AMG, then!! Make sure you get one with EVERYTHING as it'll be easier to sell. PITA if they go wrong, though.

6'3" in an SL is no problem. I'm 6'4" ish and drove an SL500 from the UK to Sicily and back in 10 days with no problem.

So what kind of things typically go wrong with SL55 AMGs? What things do I need to look out for/avoid? Should I stay clear of any particular year?

you should do a search for SL55 AMG .. the most obvious 1 is the intercooler pump, Mercedes sell 1000's per year

it has to be the clk 6.3 amg black series . fantastic car and can be picked up in the US as the market was saturated with them .
