Hi all, I've just bought a new VXR8 and although I'm very pleased with it so far I have noticed that there seems to be more than the expected amount of bump/thump noise coming up through the suspension as though there's a faulty shock absorber or two. It seems to be more on the nearside of the car so I'm pretty sure it is suspension. Has anyone else had experience of new suspension problems on these ?

Not unusal. Probably the front dampers.

Interesting.

I have what sounded like the car scraping on the ground or the front OS wheel fouling the bodywork when going over speed bumps or loading up the offside front in a left hand corner. Problem is it is intermittent and seems to get less of issue the more speed bumps you go over. Picador had a look and couldn't find anything but problem is still there.

Ideas welcome!

I think I've heard a 'doi-ing' from my front offside when going over a bump - just a few times. I was going to mention it at its first service in a couple of months.

I have to admit there is several occasions I have heard rattling/knocking from my suspension, probably near side front, the suspension in general is quite "knocky" when on rougher roads compared with the sport suspension on my E60 sport..

I also have a vibration from the rear end at anything over 100mph, feels like the prop is out of balance or maybe coming from the diff ??

Hi Mate.Had the same problem, Monkfish Performance sorted me out......Sport Ryder Dampers all round with Heavy Duty Strut Top Mount's/Bearings and explained the Brake Pad Rattle! Job Done! Nice and quiet now. They have a wealth of information, as they had one of the first VXR8'S ,that arrived over here, for testing and that was the only fault they could find.....Noisy Front End. Had the Switchable Exhaust and Re-Map done when I was down there, sounds awesome and more responsive.

As suggested, get the wheel balance done first by somebody competent. What sort of mileage has it done? Props seem to be quite an issue in the US at the moment. My prop failed too, though it was rather abused recently so that may have had an effect eek
