I understand Radio 1 is for "yoffs" but i'm assuming thats teens to early 20's? At 35 i'm hardly past it (and i expect a similar age to the presenters.

So why is Newsbeat like John Cravens Newsround for retards? A typical report on, say, the Labour Conference will start "labour, the goverment that runs the country, are hoping to win the next election. Thats where everyone gets to vote for who they like the bestist"

Staggeringly presented.

Exactly.

Who actually needs to be spoken to like this? People really must be brain dead.

I think you are wrong to be honest, when they ask members of the public their thoughts on the story in question it proves maybe they are aiming too high?

I haven't listened to newsbeat for years but agree with the sentiment. The woman who is on it (if it's still her) always made things sound 10 times worse than they actually were. Talk about making mountains out of molehills.

It's one of the reasons I stopped listening to Radio 1 in the daytime.

They talk to the listeners liek they are idiots, at least with Newsround they were talking to children. I know I'm going to sound like a 35 year-old old git here but this is a great opportunity by the BBC to install or reinforce proper language and grammar into the public, but no they just pander to it with idiotic presenters.

And relax.....

Still on Radio....

Why the hell do R1 shows interact with listeners???? jo whiley does it all the time...i understand if its for entertainment of others (like moyels with his quizes...designed for all to enjoy (in theory)) But why bother telling us bob in hounslow likes a song - with millions of listeners the idiots with so little life that they need to text a radio show that has a 0.00001% chance of reading their text out must be a tiny % of the fan base....why pander to these fools? Whiley acts like she has 10 listeners and is mates with all of them.

agghhhhhhhh.

At least when scot mills interacts with the public he makes it clear they are idiots.
