honest opinion's please

booked my car in for the wheel and brake upgrade in feb, am now undicided about
1. wheel colour
2.if it will harm the value
3.if it dosn't look quite right
i have just looked on chimaera wheels and now can't make up my mind.
oh, buy the way my car is brilliant silver.
thank,s your opinion's will help me decide.

Link dosn't work mate. Light coloured car dark wheels, Dark car silver wheels is my opinion.

Silver cars look good with anthracite wheels, don't worry JFDI and if they are that unbearable it won't break the bank to change them back to silver.

I'll update the site this weekend - got a few more wheel designs.

I think anthracite wheels look great. I had been considering the factory 16" spider upgrade, but after producing the website, i think i would want 17" wheels.

My site shows 18" wheels and also lowered the car a tad - just for cosmetic reasons, but it does help to visualise what a design will look like on the car. There are a lot of great alloys out there, but not all of them suit the chimaera.

Personally, i dont think after market wheels should make any difference to resale value. The standard wheels on my 94 Chimaera are kerbed and the finish has deteriorated on the sides of the spokes, so a change of wheels would freshen up the car - possibly even help re-sale.

chris,the wheels are the same as the tamora, 16 inch spyders.the brake upgrade is as in the tvr wheels.web site.I had 17 inch wheels and so3s fitted to my last chim it handled like a dog, tramlining all over the place. they where a nice wheel, the same as the boxter.S
the price is £1600 plus about £400 fitting at blackpool.

Third option (Tuscan wheels ???) look best IMHO - definitely light silver rather than dark.

The last option looks best to me. Bit like early Griff wheels but better. The 16 inch spiders look naff on this car IMHO.

Car is too low in the picture though - you'd never get over a speed bump.

As has been said - light car - dark wheels – and vice versa.

Still think the originals are nice. Don't think that much is served (looks obviously in some people's opinion) by the change in size.

Anyone got thier original wheels now finished in anchracite?

The choice (for a silver body) must be the 18" spiders in anthracite. Although, technically, is this possible?

Personally I think aftermarket wheels can look a bit naff, particularly on a car like a TVR. Would stick with in house upgrades if it were me.

Think the 16" spiders look very very good on the Chim.

You could always hang onto the originals and if a future potential buyer wasn't keen you could offer either or.

I'd agree with you normally (since I find all that a bit bling bling). But tasteful rims do look better than the weedy 15" and 16" standard on the Chim and Griff. The racelines (Cerbera 4.5) and Spiders (on the T cars) look great.

Having said that, have a look at apache's profile, they're aftermarket jobbies and they look the biz (TSW? I think).

Had 16 inch spiders fitted to mine and ride/ handling is just about unchanged.would go with the light car dark wheels setup.
