Anyone recommend a helmet cam?

I'm getting sick and tired of nearly being taken out on my commute each day by dozy car drivers. It always seems to be on roundabouts. I'm going straight on they are going left, (my first exit). I'm halfway across the first exit entry when they cut in front with sometimes inches to spare. I have come to the conclusion that I am going to get clobbered one day. So to my point, thought about getting a helmet cam to negate any "your fault" arguments. Anybody got any recommendations of models, types etc?

I take it you're not too bothered about it being massively high quality/price??
I got a Go-pro hero5 about 2 weeks ago, only taken it out once but the quality is tip top..... at £190 it kinda should be!
However for what you need it for there are a few at about £100. Have a look at the Oregon Scientific or Tony Hawk Action cam, one of those should do the trick as they are quite compact.
One thing to watch out for, if you are going to use it every day, most of them take AAA batteries!

I'd recommend the Go-Pro Helmet Hero wide. Its really, really good for its size and price. I used a shop called surf surf surf i think and they delivered next day for free.

I bought mine to take mtb'ing in france and it was excellent

Rather than film them and risk the accident still happening, sounds like you need to think about your riding. You need to either adopt 'primary position', which means look behind and when safe ride in the middle of the left lane (or the right lane if you prefer on a dual carriageway where both lanes go over) for a good 20m or so before you arrive at the roundabout. This means people behind you have to stay behind and won't be in a position to left hook you. Or, if you are staying on the left (and I never do), make sure you are signalling right as you pass that first exit. Its what the Highway Code says you should do and it will make most drivers think twice. Helmet cam is a good idea though for capturing general numptyness! I always adopt primary when approaching a roundabout and also where the road is too narrow for people to pass safely. Some people may get annoyed - but only the nutters that would have squeezed past anyway, most people just wait, like they should, then when you rejoing the left of the lane, they come through and are off on their way.

I knew the "Primary" would come up sometime, thought it would have been sooner than this!! I sit right in the middle of the left lane round the roundabout, but they still do it. Last couple of days I have been looking over my right shoulder as I go round the roundabout to try make eye contact. Will try the right signal see how I get on with that. Ta.
