Is this corner, apart from Eau Rouge, the greatest corner in the world? Personally i cant wait to see back in this weekend.

Should be awesome to see.

Won't they just be flat-out around there this year, like they are at Eau Rouge?

They were the last few times F1 was there.

Why do you see it as such a special corner? Looks fast but fairly ordinary to me, and just like the last corner at Spa before the bus-stop chicane.

+1

Maybe it's because 130R is a little tighter so it's not as easy to take flat out.

It's a moot point these days with all the tarmac run-off around the outside. Much like Eau Rouge is just sticking between the white lines these days. Gone are the times when there was an incentive to stay on the track.

Blind entry too. Requires some hefty bettys.

I'd throw in Pouhon and Turn 8 at Istanbul - awesome corners

Near flat out but now easily full throttle now?

Best story is that in 1991 Schumi crashed his car there in qualy, quickly jumped into Piquet's car and managed to set a time quicker than Piquet!

Blanchimont and Eau Rouge are easily flat out. Best corner at Spa is Pouhon.

Goes to show the development of F1 cars. Copse has become the new Eau Rouge in F1 circles. In 2007 Hamilton was struggling to take in flat out in qualy but did it for his pole lap.

It used to boil down to whether your 'nads were big enough for you to take it flat in top gear.

Now it's rather easier (but not necessarily easy) to do that compared with a few years ago so some of the challenge has gone.

Eau Rouge flat? Luca Badoer says not wink

Pouhon is awesome, great, great corner and allows for no fagotry. Awesome.

130R is another great corner. Hope it's still a challenge now days.

I know it's a totally wk thing to say, however the first two turns at Suzuka are my favourites on Gran Tourismo.

I prefer Eau Rouge, but 130R is up there with the best of them, great corner and as most people have said, sorts the men from the boys?

It's all about cojones.

The telemetry from Mansell's car at the British GP in 1992 showed that he was entering Copse 25mph faster than Piquet.

It's not really a special corner for spectators and TV viewers. Rather, it's a special corner for drivers. F1 drivers love high-speed flat/nearly-flat corners (it's why they love Spa).

Piquet retired from F1 in 1992

Would make more sense in 1991 when Piquet drove for Benetton. Mansell/FW14 had fancy driver aids which would explain the extra 25mph into Copse.

Speaking of cojones. Patrese congratulated Mansell for taking pole in '91/92 British GP (can't remember which exactly) by grabbing Mansell's cojones!

If I remember rightly, 130R is got to at full chat at top speed isn't it - after a long build up of full throttle for a good long while? Fairly narrow too (though maybe not with run off) and heavy braking just after you finish the corner - excellent smile

Maybe not best corner in the world, but a cracker!

I think Mansell was 25mph faster then Patrese, (sp). If memory serves Mansell took the T car out which was setup for Patrese, he was still 3 seconds a lap faster than Patrese.
