I went on a sales course once which included a section on how you present yourself physically to a customer or prospect. Much of this was around mirroring body language and all the usual sort of crap that you can either do naturally or will never be able to do without looking hugely contrived, but one fairly bold statement was interesting...
"If you want to be a successful salesman, don't sport any facial hair. People do not trust men with facial hair."
Now this wasn't something I'd ever really thought about before, but looking around me with this statement in mind, I start to wonder if maybe it's true?
After all, democratically elected politicians rely massively on conjuring up a perception of trust. They pay image consultants vast amounts of money to make sure their haircuts, their suits, their ties, their voices and every other aspect of their outward appearance all work towards creating that image. And when was the last time you saw a bearded President or Prime Minister?
What do people on here think of hirsute men and their trustworthiness, or lack thereof?
