brake pads upgrade
Discussion
right guys, i need new rear pads, but i fancy some upgraded fronts too.
My car is a year 2000 model, there seems to be lots of different pad options out there. why are they so expensive?
RG want £102 for a set of rear pads! that cannot be right, i paid £45 for porsche 911 rear pads in the past.
Any suggestions/recommendations welcome.

Ferodo DS2500 have always been recommended to me as the best all round pad!
Are they OK then cold? Cost?I've used Mintex 1144 (I think) but not on my TVR - was told they were a decent 'budget' option with good 'fast road' properties - ie decent when cold.
I was warned off from the red/green stuff.
Ferodo DS2500's here too. A little pricey but much better than the standard pads with better bite and more power, even cold. They're not noisy either.
They also cure the squirmy back end the big brake cars (Red Rose, 'S' spec) have whilst hard on the brakes as they bring the brake balance forward which is excellent.

Is that fitted? If not it is a major ripoff unless they're a special make. The rears are standard Ford brakes and if you had to you could fit normal Ferodo pads and get change from £20 (TVR std spec was DS2000 or whatever the one below DS2500 is).My car is a year 2000 model, there seems to be lots of different pad options out there. why are they so expensive?

Edited to say: I like DS2500s all round. Mine has Mintex 1144 right now - loads of dust and average braking power. DS2500s will be re-fitted when I have an excuse.
