Apologies if this is a repost, i searched but couldnt find anything

This big retune of all freeview boxes and TV's

Has anyone else done it?

It seems to have ballsed mine up somewhat, I know have half the channels I had, I have lost Sky News and Sky Sports news and most importantly Dave for my TG re-runs

Anyone else had any issues?

My folks lost Channel Five, but I found it had been moved to 800, for some reason, so I created a fav list and moved it to a more usual position between 4 and 6.

Ditto, also with a Humax (found Five in the end, on channel 815 or something). I just re-ran the installation and all is fine.

Some areas will lose ITV3 and ITV4 permanently, though. Bonus!

Quite the opposite, I'm afraid.

We lost '5' last night and wanted to watch something. I searched the web for how to re-tune, and after quite a few offers of 'Videos for the Stupid' found a simple bullet point recipe. It was along the lines of Menu | TV Setup | Installation | Channel Installation, and I found it easily enough. I selected something along the lines of 'Automatic Search' and it took a few minutes but all went well. We even gained a few channels, as far as I can tell.

Try it again?

Did it last night and everything seems to be exactly as before, plus a few more channels.

Re-tuned the bedroom tv twice last night and still cant find 5, oh well Im not sifting through all the channels to find it.

Whats the point of having a channel called 5 if its not going to be on channel 5?

Didnt need to do anything. All my Sony Freeview boxes and the Sony PVR still have all the channels working same as last week.

Yep, my channels are now totally screwed.
Looking in the EPG, it goes 1,2,3,4,48,92,6,7....
Channel 5 is now channel 802, so pressing the up button when on Ch4 doesn't get you there. Very irritating.

Did a re-tune on my Humax last night and after a few false starts, read that it was necessary to delete all the channels prior to doind a re-scan. This was done by chosing 'Restore Defaults' from the installation menu. (Other boxes apparently do this, the Humax just adds to the current list on a re-scan).

If you don't do this, the new (different multilpex) channels co-exist along side the other - hence the duplicates and channel 5 appearing in the 800s.

This made sense when compared to what I saw happening. Hopefully of use to someone else too.

You can (normally) move them around, somewhere in the menu system. Irritating, but only irritating once.

Mine often asks me if I want to retune...

Did this once and lost several channels, but got them back when I retuned again the next day.

I think the weather was being an arse...

Thinking of it.. Did you reset it all?

I did mine as First Time Installation and it then deletes all previous channels.

Better signal now means we can view some of the channels we couldn't before, plus some new ones.

Result.

Yeah, I've lost a lot of my channels. In fact, they are still appearing in the guide, but when I try to select one it claims to not be tuned. Got no programme info about them either.
Lost all C5 channels (5, Fiver, FiveUS) E4 and +1, Dave and +1, Virgin, ITV2, 3 & 4 as well as numerous shopping channels.
Brilliant.

You've got to reset the box to factory defaults before scanning again.
